Phase II: Resource Library Illustrations
3 approaches based on collated feedback
The rules governing consistent emphasis on coloring in the presentation template should align with the following principles:
Weight of the First Option: Consider giving more prominence or weight to the first option presented, acknowledging its potential influence or impact.
World of Complexity: Recognize and embrace complexity without categorizing outcomes as strictly 'right' or 'wrong,' fostering a mindset open to diverse perspectives and interpretations.
Right Brain Engagement: Engage the right brain by leveraging the color palette to evoke emotions, creativity, and intuition rather than relying solely on analytical or logical approaches.
Approaching Ambiguity: Utilize the color palette to convey ambiguity, exploring different ways to approach uncertain or ambiguous situations creatively.
'Aha' or 'Wow' Moment: Aim to create moments of insight or surprise ('aha' or 'wow' moments) through the strategic use of colors and visual elements.
Each exercise within the presentation template serves a specific purpose:
    •    Dilemma Dance Between Aesthetic and Literal: Encourages participants to navigate the tension between aesthetic preferences and literal interpretations, fostering a dynamic and fluid approach rather than a static one.
    •    Evaluative Thinking (Textures): Develops the ability to evaluate situations or concepts by considering various 'textures' or layers of meaning, promoting nuanced understanding.
    •    Visual Facilitation (Imagination): Stimulates imagination from multiple perspectives ('many mind's eyes'), enhancing cognitive flexibility and creativity in problem-solving.
    •    3 Horizons (Horizons): Helps participants envision different 'horizons' or potential futures, fostering strategic foresight and long-term planning.
    •    Scoping (Field/Boundary): Explores perspectives and boundaries within a given context, facilitating clarity in defining scope and identifying limitations or opportunities.
    •    H3Uni Practice Framework (Fine-tuning): Refines skills within the H3Uni practice framework, potentially addressing specific aspects related to the framework's application or implementation.

1.  Evocative Illustrations

This approach highlights the evocative aspect, steering clear of diagrammatic or geometric elements like boxes, labels and arrows. These are purposefully apart from existing diagrams and graphics—which would find their place on their specific webpages, maintaining context.

As a result, these Evocative Illustrations primarily serve as stand-alone icons.

Look and Feel
Hands place emphasis on 'human' and 'manual' actions (in the literal sense), with selective use of a roller-print texture (hand-made). There is an intended contrast with the expected ‘clean’ visuals associated with corporate websites in favour of an imperfect human touch.

Considerations

This approach requires that the icons be more evocative than diagrammatic since they won’t be faithful to the colours of each method. It highlights the need for methods such as Wheel of Wisdom and World System Mapping to have their own distinct colour palette, distinct from the icons, on their respective web pages.

2.  Balanced Illustrations

This approach aims to find a balance between diagrammatical and evocative illustrations. It aims for an aesthetic of non-cognitive appeal (the shape and tone of the icon and background) and attempts to convey concepts at first glance.

Look and Feel
Minimalist, freehand use of colour and line to convey information immediately.

Considerations

The expanded colour palette taken from the logo is used sparingly on each icon, so that they are self-contained. Overall these icons feel unified because of the minimalist graphical approach.
